Arrival in Dublin – Malahide Castle & Gardens
Arrive in Dublin and begin your journey with a visit to Malahide Castle, just north of the city. This magnificent 12th-century castle is set on a large estate with over 260 acres of parkland. Explore the castle’s elegant rooms, hear the stories of the Talbot family, and wander through the beautifully landscaped Malahide Gardens, home to exotic plants and Victorian greenhouses. In the afternoon explore the city and visit its charming parks, such as St. Stephen’s Green or Phoenix Park.
Powerscourt Estate & Gardens (Wicklow)
Leave Dublin for Powerscourt Estate, one of the most renowned gardens in Ireland, located in County Wicklow. The 47 acres of gardens offer a delightful mix of formal landscapes, terraces, statues, and secret nooks. Explore the grand Italian Garden, the Japanese Garden, and Triton Lake, all set against the backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains. Afterwards, drive through the scenic Wicklow Mountains National Park and visit the monastic site of Glendalough, known for its serene lakes and ancient ruins.
Kilkenny Castle & Gardens
Travel to the medieval city of Kilkenny and visit Kilkenny Castle, a majestic fortress built in the 12th century. Tour the castle's grand interiors, from its art-filled drawing rooms to the grand library, and stroll through the Rose Garden and Castle Park that surround the castle. Afterwards, explore the narrow streets of Kilkenny, visit St. Canice's Cathedral, or enjoy some time in the city’s many artisan shops and cafes. Drive to Cork.
Blarney Castle, Garinish Island, and Killarney
Start your day at Blarney Castle, where you can kiss the Blarney Stone and explore the enchanting Blarney Gardens. Continue to Garinish Island from Glengarriff Harbour, known for its stunning Italianate garden and unique microclimate. Galway to Dublin – Birr Castle & Belvedere House
Depart Galway and head towards Birr Castle in County Offaly, renowned for its impressive 17th-century architecture, stunning gardens, and the historic Great Telescope. After exploring the castle grounds, continue to Belvedere House and its Gardens in County Westmeath. Discover the beautiful gardens, including the Victorian Walled Garden and the Greek Temple. Finish your journey with a drive back to Dublin for your final night in the capital.
Departure from Dublin
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Dublin. Depending on your departure time, you might visit a few more local attractions or enjoy a final stroll through the city. Make your way to the airport for your departure, taking with you cherished memories of Ireland's historic castles, beautiful gardens, and stunning landscapes.
